EVERETT, Wash. —
A Marysville man who shot his 6-year-old daughter was acquitted of a murder charge but convicted of manslaughter.

Snohomish County Superior Court jurors weren't convinced Richard Peters intentionally pointed a handgun at his daughter Stormy, as prosecutors said.

The Everett Herald reports the jury agreed Monday that Peters was reckless when he shot the girl a year ago between the eyes. The 43-year-old faces more than 13 years in prison when he is sentenced next Tuesday in Everett.

Peters said the gun fired accidentally.
