Dad charged with child abuse and neglect, false imprisonment, aggravated burglary, and assault (Murfreesboro, Tennessee)

Dad GLEN BARRY EVANS has been arrested on charges of child abuse and neglect, false imprisonment, aggravated burglary, and assault. Seems this charmer just couldn't figure out why his "estranged" wife had taken their 15-month-old child and left him. So he shows up at the home in which they are staying and starts an "altercation"--meaning he grabbed his wife and hit her, and tried to force her to leave with him. Meanwhile, the child has fallen down some concrete steps and is injured. Daddy then picks up the child and forces the mother into a waiting vehicle, which is being driven by daddy's sister, whom I'm sure is just as charming as her lovely brother. Being the loving daddy he is--who no doubt just wants his family together!--Evans refuses to get the child medical attention. (There's your proof that these guys are only interested in abuse and control, and couldn't give a damn about the kids.) Police didn't catch up with this happy family for three more hours. Both mother and child were transported to the hospital for medical assistance, and Daddy has now been arrested.

A Kentucky native was arrested Thursday on charges of child abuse and neglect, false imprisonment and other charges by Murfreesboro Police.

Glen Barry Evans, 39, was arrested in the 900 block of Southeast Broad Street after Murfreesboro Police Detective Tannas Knox conducted an investigation that began at a 350 Tremont apartment Wednesday.

Margaret Warren and Leigh Kilgore told police that a friend, Lisa Evans, and her 15-month-old child were staying with her at the apartment on Wednesday when Evans’ estranged husband and father of her child, Glen Evans, came into the apartment and began a verbal altercation.
“Mr. Evans grabbed Mrs. Evans, told her she was coming with him and hit her,” Knox reported. “As the altercation took place between the suspect and the victim, the toddler child got out of the apartment and fell down on the concrete steps from the second floor to the first floor.”

When the parents heard their child screaming, they ran outside to the first floor, according to the report. Glen Evans allegedly picked up the child, grabbed Lisa Evans by the arm and forced her into a vehicle, which Glen Evan’s sister, Amy Albert, was driving.

“Lisa Evans advised that she pleaded with Mr. Evans to take the child to the hospital, but the suspect refused,” Knox reported.

During the investigation, according to Knox, the parents and the child were all located approximately three hours later at Shamrock Apartments on Southeast Broad.

Glen Evans was taken into custody and charged with the aforementioned charges, along with aggravated burglary and domestic assault.

“Both the mother and injured child were transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center by ambulance, in which the child suffered injury due to the fall,” Knox reported. “DCS was notified and a referral was made.”

Evans was booked into the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and held on $22,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court June 10.
