Dad kills mom, two children; Dad's sister says he was "distraught" over protective order and "ongoing custody dispute" (Dexter, Maine)

Why does this article focus nearly exclusively on what the poor widdle killer thought and his poor widdle feelings? Observe that there are NO INTERVIEWS, NO COMMENTS here from the family of the murdered mom, or from the friends of these murdered kids. Nothing about how they felt about being continually terrorized and stalked by a psychopathic father. Nothing about what they were like as human beings. But the reporter DOES interview killer dad STEVEN LAKE's sister, who pontificates on how Poor Daddy was "suicidal" and "distraught" over the protective order his "estranged" wife took out and the "ongoing custody dispute" that kept him from seeing his kids.

Seriously? This is pure unbalanced fathers rights hog sh**. Right out of the playbook. It's All About Poor Daddy's Pain. His "troubled past." Nothing about the pain and terror of this woman and her children, especially in the final moments of their lives. That's because the FRs see women and children as no more than collateral damage in the big Daddy Drama complete with police standoff and final bloodbath/purge.

There is also nothing here about how the mother's concerns about this sicko proved to be TOTALLY JUSTIFIED, and that in truth, it's too bad the protective order didn't work, because this POS should have been kept away from his wife and kids forever--as well as every other decent human being.

This is called fathers rights movement influence on the mainstream media, folks.

Family says Dexter shooter had troubled past with estranged wife
There is new information into the shooting in Dexter that killed an entire family.

Steven Lake is accused of killing his estranged wife and his two kids yesterday, but his history of violence stems further back than that.

Lake, reportedly held his wife at gunpoint prior to yesterday's shooting in Dexter.

During that incident, when he was charged with criminal threatening, records show Lake threatened to take a knife to his wife, Amy, and do things you "wouldn't do to farm animals."

Steven's Lake's sister spoke out and says while there is no justification for the shooting she is trying to understand what her brother may have been thinking when he pulled that trigger.

State Police surrounded a home in Dexter yesterday afternoon after suspecting Steven Lake was inside holding his family hostage.

By the time police entered the home they say lake killed his estranged wife Amy and their two kids.

Today, from their home in Wellington, Lake's sister and brother-in-law say Steven was suicidal at times, distraught over the fact he couldn't see his kids during an ongoing custody dispute with Amy.

Prior to the shooting, Amy asked police to make sure Steven stayed away from her family, even filing a protective order stemming from that incident last year.

And while police in Dexter checked on her yesterday, their efforts came too late.Family says Dexter shooter had troubled past with estranged wife
