Dad who beat mom, tried to kick down her door says he just wanted to "keep in contact with her for the sake of their child" (Kent, England)

This is bullsh** that battered mums have to deal with. Dad RICKY CAREY beat the mother of their child last year. Then, a few months later, he tries to kick down her front door while shouting to be let in.

So what does this moron claim in court? He just wanted to "keep in contact with her for the sake of their child." Oh SUPER. That's the way to be a positive father role model? Screaming and carrying on like a freaking idiot? Traumatizing your child?

In reality, he's just using their kid as an excuse to continue badgering and terrorizing the mother. This type never gives a crap about the kids. It's always about Daddy, Daddy Drama, and What Daddy Wants. Period.

And good luck with that restraining order, Mum.

Restraining order for violent ex-partner

Friday, May 04, 2012 Canterbury Times

A FATHER-OF-ONE who beat his former partner and tried to kick down her front door has been given a restraining order.

Ricky Carey, 26, of Watercress Lane in Wingham Well near Canterbury, beat Maria Henson – the mother of his child – on July 24 last year, causing bruising to her cheek.

Then at 1am on December 18, he went to her home in Canterbury, where he caused damage to her front door while shouting to be let inside.

He appeared at Canterbury Magistrates' Court on Thursday, where he admitted charges of assault and criminal damage.

Prosecuting, Julie Farbrace told the court Carey had pulled the handle off in his attempts to force the door open, and caused several dents by kicking and banging on it with force.

He was arrested for criminal damage and breaching bail conditions th banned him from contacting Miss Henson.

Defending, Donald Worsely said the incident happened after Carey's ex-partner claimed she was pregnant with his second child – but wanted nothing to do with him.

Mr Worsely said his client acknowledged he had pushed Miss Henson twice, but was keen to keep in contact with her for the sake of their child.

After half an hour of deliberation, magistrates imposed a two-year restraining order banning Carey from going within 10 metres of his victim.

He was also handed a two-year community order, with 150 hours of unpaid work and compensation, fines and court costs totalling £450.

Chairman of the bench, Sarah Poole, told him: "It is particularly distressing to hear that these offences were committed at a place where your young child was living. It simply cannot happen again."
