Dad in "custody dispute" charged with killing 18-month-old son, child's grandmother (Huntsville, Texas)

Once again we see the bitter truth: violent dads don't enter "custody disputes" because they love their kids or because they want to help raise them. No, what they are after is POSSESSION. They want to own the kids, and punish/control the mother. That's what control freak/abusers do. And for too many of these guys, murder accomplishes their aims just as well as a "custody dispute."

Dad is identified as HOWARD WAYNE LEWIS.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A man involved in a custody dispute has been charged with killing his toddler son at a Central Texas home where the boy's maternal grandmother was also found slain.

Walker County jail records show Howard Wayne Lewis was being held Thursday on a capital murder charge in the death of his 18-month-old son, Aiyden. The body of Shanta Crawford was also discovered at the Huntsville-area residence by her husband when he arrived home from work July 24.

Bond was set at $1 million for Lewis, who was arrested Wednesday. No attorney was listed for Lewis, who'd been ordered to pay child support.

Investigators say the boy's mother also stayed at the residence but wasn't home when the child was strangled and the grandmother was fatally beaten.
