Trial for Father Accused of Killing Toddler Postponed

Lynchburg, VA - A father accused of murdering his 2-year-old son won't face a jury until next year in Lynchburg.

Oliver Felix will go on trial in February, according to the circuit court website. His trial was originally set for next month. Attorneys can't discuss the reason for the change, because there is a gag order in the case.

His son Simeon Tyler's brain was bleeding when he was taken to the hospital in April of last year, according to a search warrant. The child died nine days later. The warrant said detectives were lead to believe the toddler had fallen.

Felix is charged with murder, child endangerment, and child abuse and neglect.
